Thumbs up W126 300SD Custom Cold air intake

Hey guys, check out my new Cold air intake that i fabricated last weekend! It works well i have made a video but, i do not know how to post it hahaha!

I have All the other pictures on my "Photo bucket" site!

Now well, i used some Aluminum intake Pipe with a slight angle in it, some silicone intake boots, a GM 3.8L supercharged air box that, i modified/painted, a second aluminum pipe and last a W123 cold air plastic snorkel. i Had to bend and cut the rad support to, fit the tubing without disturbing the headlight position or the rad. I did cut the W123 at an angle to direct air, right into the air box. Oh boy it does works very good..... its nicely sealed for maximum air cleaning, it does pumps nice cold air from the front of the car. The intake its self is made for the maximum restriction-less air flow to the turbo.

Inside my shop, when i had half the air box off with the filter, iused a huge electric fan in front of my car about 6 feet away to blow air at my car, and then i put my hand behind the box to see with regular outside air flow "without the car running obviously" how much air flows naturally in the intake. Well i was impressed, how much air i could feel flowing right on my hand, SOOOOO i Knew it was a job well done and it worked! So imagine with the car pumping that air..... yeah it does work very nicely! next Brembo Brake all around, 3" exhaust next week "straight pipe", intercooler set up......... stick around for more info and more pictures! any positive comments welcome or questions! Time to go its Beer Run time i just drank my last one cya guys ill update more pics next weekend! ("next zebrano wood allround and new interior")

Not bad. Why couldn't you use the stock SD snorkle arrangement?

Looks pretty good. bgkast is right though, a stock W126 snorkel might work better.

No more than the stock W123/W126 intakes already did.

You should have some sort of baffle in the inlet to discourage rain ingestion and also, install a drain tube in the airbox for any water to drain out the bottom.

Why not you flip the metal spade looking thing (srry dont know what that black thing called) the other way so the rain water won't get sucked in...

he currently has a 'semi-scoop' going on there. Although the tubing is transverse to wind flow, the little lip will catch / direct some air into the tubing. If he flipped it, a vacuum would be created and 'ram effect' would nullified.

Thank you man finally somebody see's and understand exactly what i was doing. Usually no F*cking body on this forum agrees with me, its funny how i own a High performance shop and all my custom upgrades worked flawlessly so fare never had any problems "with the mods Ive made/created" but on this forum nobody put's any positive feedback or comments what's the point of wasting my time to post things here for people to enjoy...... what the f*ck...

I understand if some others do have other different opinions that's fine with me but, quit being jerk's or i wont even bother to make post's here. Talking and chatting about Benz's should be fun whats the point a ruining that...... talking like what i do is useless worthless etc.... f*ck that if i am still living and making money i must be doing something right i believe HUH!

Sooooo should i even post about the new upgrades ill be making in the next month because i have the parts already (3" stainless steel exhaust" mandrel bent", nitrous oxide, Brembo brakes, Audi intercooler, new M-B nozzles, W115 intake, removed adla, bigger turbo and other things) ill be doing during over the next few weekend's or is it pointless? if somebody is interested tell me or the hell with it im am not posting ever again here i got no time to waste, my business keeps me very busy. you decide.....

Thats a waste of time. You already have a turbo and it will flow much more air than needed to burn everything the IP can pump. You'll need more fuel flow on these engines long before you will need more air flow.

It's because you have dared to modify a Mercedes-Benz, thus you have questioned "perfection."

That's correct, but if your electric fan almost never comes on, it's pretty much irrelevant. The only time mine is necessary is when I'm running the A/C or I've been stuck in very slow traffic for a good while.

I have made 3 holes at in the air box bottom right before the air filter to let moisture and water out..... ( and a couple right bellow the air intake snorkel tubing if you watch carefully)
