Gauge Choices

Since I'm looking for more power, I'm going to need gauges to monitor it. I'd like to stick with VDO but I haven't had a lot of luck finding what I need. I'm looking for the following:

Boost - 3 bar/45 PSI
Oil Pressure - 0-100 or equiv. bar is fine.
EGT

All gauges must match the stock panel with backlit dials.

If I can't find a set that meets these requirements, I may have to use Isspro or another equivalent.

I'm open to suggestions.

You are going to run 45 psi? I don't like bars, and metric stuff,so I went with a boost vac, guage to 15psi.Advance auto parts.

I used VDO Cockpit gauges for my boost/EGT set. They have the same color scheme and backlight as the OEM stuff. They also have the black center cap over the spindle.

I bought them at summit racing
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=400267+305771+115&autoview=sku

, but I just found them at this site
http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?Type=Turbo_Boost&Series=Cockpit&Units=E

You will need a type K thermocouple for the Pryometer. I got mine off ebay...

The oil pressure gauge should go to 120 or 140psi since the relief valve opens a bit higher than 100psi.

Yep this is the best place to find a good quality cheap Boost and Pyro guage that will work decent. I hate the phony Vac/Boost gauges for gas engines strictly boost only haha.

Just my $0.02,

OK, for some reason I thought that only the Vision series gauges had the backlit faces. I was having trouble finding a boost gauge that read that high. I forgot about egauges.com, they have a nice selection.

Yeah, I'm just looking to monitor the upper limit of potential boost.

Just an update on this: I ordered the gauges from egauges.com yesterday. I wrestled with the ideas of where to mount them. For a long time I wanted to put a dash pod in the center of the dash but one would have to be custom made and then there was the problem of mounting.

I just compromised and decided to mount them in the ash tray. I'll make a mounting plate that incorporates all three gauges along with two power ports so I can run a GPS and a radar detector or charge a phone. I'll post some pictures when I get it done.
