Im going to drag this up alittle (again). Ive found a small fender mounted i.c. on an Eclipse turbo that can be had for $20. It looks like i can mimic this setup. The turbo side can use a simple boot and elbow. The crossover will need cut and welded square to round, and preferably gradually as possible, and not an abrupt taper/bottleneck. Also the factory fender/hood vents would be nice on the SDL.

Why? All you are going to do is choke airflow and reduce power. Do you have an uprated pump? The stock system is quite adequate.

well this will be done on my SDL daily/test mule. the setup, if it works, would be transfered to the spare motor i will be overhauling before dropping in the Land Rover, and stock setup from it swapped back to SDL. I agree that on these cars an intercooler will probably not help anything, but yes, the other will have full load adjustment and be in an overweight full time 4wd, and will see lots of sustained WOT scenarios when wheel spinning in mud holes/sand/ect. So yes, i would, in an ideal situation be able to go where i want, and make it home!

It 's not that big but I also 3" tubing which is what you need for 700CFM. In your scenario, you are far better off with an AWIC, a radiator and a large reservoir tank. AAIC is only good if you are moving, I imagine you rarely will be moving more than 20mph when you really need that boost. Before you do anything, add an EGT and see what its really like at WOT.
