1999 SLK 230 AMG Sport (Lynnwood, WA, USA)

For Sale: 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 AMG Sport
Price: $4,000 firm - cash only - no trades, no barter, just cash

(Well, ok, maybe some hard-to-find w115 or w124 or r129 parts might be considered...)

188,xxx miles
Folding Hard Top Convertible - system works perfectly

Fun to drive. Even better with the top down! But has traction control and the hard top, so it can be a reliable car even in winter, not just a summer car.

Six cars, two drivers, time to let one (car!) go.

Gets around 22 mpg even when driving it like the New Yorker I am.

Recent work:
* new Bosch spark plugs (May 2024)
* new OEM heater duo-valve (Feb 2024)
* new OEM third/high brake light unit (Feb 2024)
* new driver mirror overlay (Jan 2024)
* new side markers (Aug 2023)
* new windshield (Nov 2022)
* new AC compressor (Oct 2022)
* new battery (Oct 2022)
* new tranny mount (May 2021)
* replaced tranny conductor plate, tested all shift solenoids (May 2021)
* new trunk struts (May 2021)
* new tires at 181,165 miles (May 2021)
* new MAF (Feb 2021)
* new upper and lower front control arms and ball joints (Feb 2021)

The so-so:
* some areas of paint (particularly trunk lid) have clearcoat failing, but otherwise paint is holding up quite well
* crack in lower front bumper/airdam
* stereo/speakers need replacement (didn't bother, since I figure the new owner will have different preferences than me and would just take out whatever I put in)
* tear in driver seat bolster seams
* dash has seen better days
* cup holders are broken (I doubt they lasted more than a few days when new, looking at the design)

Notes to those who know these cars:
* r170.447
* m111.973
* 722.605
* repaired the typical right brake taillight circuit/socket (May 2024)
* cleaned and repaired CCIM K10 relay module for turn signals issue (Feb 2024)
* replaced infamous K40 relay module (210-540-00-72), new from dealer (Jun 2023)
* replaced tranny electrical plug adapter (May 2021)
