1st off, I have no relation to Neuspeed, just passing along the deal, maybe you guys already know.

I have the neuspeed Springs on my car.

They have lowered the car very nicely.

2 bump front pads, with 3 bump rear. Check the pics on my site, you will see it looks perfect. Not slammed or anything.

The ride is noticably stiffer than before, but to me it is wonderful.

New shocks are definately going to be a welcome change as well, but the stock shocks work for now.

The car has less body roll, feels more solid, and corners nicely.

This may be a rookie question, but what exactly are the bump pads?
Also, what did youpay for your springs?

And I also see in your Sig. you are planning to upgrade to 17" wheels. How about 18"?
I am deciding between the two sizes.

Bryan, right now I have a 1994 C Class (W202) w/ H&R springs (H&R makes springs for lots of tuners, race teams, and in fact make them for Nuespeed), Koni sport adjustable shocks (set at firmest setting), #1 pads, 18" OZ Racing Wheels, and Yokohoma Parada tires and my car rides GREAT!!! It handles as good a any sports car.

Bump pads go on top of the springs and the ones that typically come on your car are thick, changing to thinner ones lowers the car even more.
These pads are very inexpensive (like $20 for all four). Ask around in the tech section for parts # for thinnest pads for your car.

Your car can take 18" wheels.

The pads at the top of the springs have little bumps or nipples on them which can be deciphered to the height of the pad.

1 bump = 8 mm
2 bump = 13 mm
3 bump =18 mm
4 bump = 23 mm

At least I think those are the sizes.

Rear I believe only goes up to 3 bumps, front goes up to 4.

Every benz will have different pads. The pads are used to bring the car to the factory height so that they are all virtually the same height.

As for the wheels, love 18's on my dad's SL, but for me they are too big for my tastes for my car.

I am planning on going with 17's because I prefer a little more sidewall.

Plus I hate having to slow down to a crawl to go over every little bump, 17's are a little more forgiving with this kind of thing.

Plus, I have a client who is an auto dismantler, so he can probably get me the wheels I want in 17" for a ridiculously low price, or so he says.

I'll keep you all posted, I am not planning on buying wheels until I need new tires for the front of the car, or until I decide I want to splurge on it.

I got the springs in the mail last week, they look to be very high quality and the box they came is nice as well.
Total was $138.00 delivered.
I have yet to install them, I actually won't have the car until August 1st.
I just wanted to buy a few things for it while I had the extra cash.
I'll will post a thread on the install of them and the complete results here as soon as I get the job going.

As far as other components, I am looking for a new set of shocks. I have had excellent results in the past with Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustables.
I am not sure if they make a model for the 124, but I will find out.

S.D.Benz, sounds like you are getting ready to tune your car. mercedesshop is a wonderful site, but also give http://www.benzsport.com a try. Its full of nothing but tuned Benzes. I copied and pasted your initial post there and everyone is/has ordered these springs. It was quite a hit! So check out that site. BTW, I recommend you get Koni adjustables, I have them and I love them!

O man, thanks for the GREAT tip SD. Too bad I'm just prepping the 300CE for sale soon and won't really need the springs. Unless I decide to keep the car, then I guess it'd be time to buy the springs. Hmm... =)

Newbie question here, sorry

My stock tires on my 300 E are 195 - 15 - 65

What do these numbers indicate, and am I limited to that size tire on the OEM rims I have or can I go wider?

I'd like wider tires if possible.

195 is the width of the tire. 15 is the diameter of the wheel it fits and 65 is the sidewall height. To keep within the manufacturers specification of your car you need to keep as close to the rolling radius of this tire size in order to avoid problems with gearing and your ABS.
The best wider tire size to fit on OEM rims is 205/60/15.
