rims

Where the frig do you buy rims like on that Black 500 in the photo? is he using spacers, and why don't we get some money together and start making reproduction AMG bumper spoilers. If people are buying entire cars just to get their hands on the spoilers then there must be a market for new Fiberglas pieces

The wide body black one in the first picture has some lipped out mercedes 16's. They are special edition mercedes 16's that came on the sec and sel models in the 80's. It is heavily spaced out.

NOOOO! The testerossa bodykit was one of the ugliest body kits of the era. Please I beseech you, Don't do it.
Try this instead. My car is actually the posterchild of this body kit. great quality, and trust me, this kit can take some abuse. I know.
Extreme Dimensions

Some things to consider though, This kit is designed for Euro bumper bars, and will fit both SEC and SEL. However, I did the conversion myself and the euro bumper bars i accuired bolted right up to my US holes without modification.
It's a trim to fit kit on the sideskirts.

Hey, Brian, how'd you get your dual exhaust set up like that? I didn't notice that at the GTG in PA, but I'd like to do that to mine.

I like that kit. I might buy one for my SEC. Did you ever get one of these? If so, how about posting some pictures of it.

I thought I remembered hearing someone say they had modified their US bumpers to fit this kit. Do you know if that's possible?

yeah. it was me. All I did was accuire some euro bumper bars and brackets. after that, it's plug n play. The euros bolt right up to the US holes. no mods neccessary.

It WAS that way at PA. I just forgot to bring my mirrors that weekend so people could see underneath. I built it myself actually at my brother in law's Meineke muffler shop in Hightstown, NJ on rt 130. Pulled off the potato cat, cut off the flange and created a new downpipe from scratch using the flange from the existing cat.

Here are some pics the way it sits now. Take note to the bend near the fuel pump. This is neccessary to avoid a fire hazard unless you relocate the fuel pump. This was a trial run. next up, complete duals with Flowmaster HushPower II's. The hushpower II's sound better than what I have. However, I do love what I have. I just think I can still improve on it is all, especially the driver's side pipe which i wasn't happy with to begin with. Too many correction bends. but I think i got it down to a science now. It was my first attept at EVER building an exhaust from scratch and I learned a great deal doing it.

Listen to my 2.5" single pipe with split to 2 tailpipes. Flowmaster Muffler, NO CATS
I added a freeflow resonator since then to tone the volume down just a little as seen in final pic.

Sorry to chime in so late. Here is a link to a member from mbfanatics.org with a widebody on his w126 coupe. http://www.mbfanatics.org/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=13&view=findpost&p=52
I've seen the car in person, demands attention. The owner, Steve, said he had a lot of trouble finding the kit, finally sourced it out in Japan. I'm sure if you pm'd him, he would answer any questions. It will be a few months before I run into him in person otherwise I would make him aware myself.

I was going to ask how you dealt with the fuel pump on that, Brian. I was thinking that you might be able to put the muffler in the cavity where the resonators were originally. I just wasn't sure how to get the right hand pipe safely past the fuel pump.

BTW, Brian, did you put new undercoating on your car? It looks like new in the photos. I have not seen many cars that were as clean as yours is.

I hand scrubbed the entire underside with soap and a floor brush, then touched up the undercoating with 3M undercoat. still looks good to this day even. 2 years later.

Well I thought of that, but if I did that, the tailpipes would be too "out of tune". whereas, the majority of the air would be coming out of one side vs the other. This way there is equal air and tone from both. There is no fuel pump danger, due to the way I bent the exhaust around it. Plenty of room to dissipate heat.

Well, I must say that car never had it so good as it has since you've had it. Do you have a lift available to use when you need it?
