powerchips?

I was at their site. here is the link

http://www.powerchipgroup.com/products/showmake.asp?make=Mercedes-Benz

They show chips for most all models.

I wonder if that means those of us with m103/m104 engines can get chips!

Anyone check into this before?

Alon

I have been looking into chipping my C36 for over a year now, but other things have always come up. Powerchip has a good reputation and the other owners with Powerchip modifications have had nothing but good things to say. Once I patch up my headgasket issue I will be on the hunt again for software for my AMG!

I have had numerous conversations with Wayne Besanko (their CEO) about fitaments. Realize they are in Australia and most of the data they list on their site is euro spec data. Been trying to figure out if they can chip my ecu, but the ecu numbers they have given me don't jive with the US spec ecu numbers. Also, they have production dates for W124 and W201 cars screwed up as well, so to say the least its been complicated trying to figure it out. Kind of gave up on this for now, they just don't have enough information about US spec ECU's and US spec cars.

I noticed that as well. They listed the C36 production years as starting in September of 95. My car was built in January of 95, as stated by the sticker in the driver's door, so one of us is wrong ...

Remember that most of Euro cars are released before we get them. The C36 was available in 1994 in Europe, also the 190 16 valve was available in 1985 in Europe. Europe also saw a 1999 CLK55 without command, and so on and so on.

Not sure what the differences between the ECU's are, but I figured that allot of euro spec cars are available with no cat, I would suspect that the ecu is programmed for that and the higher octane gas (less ignition retard). Wish I knew more about the ECU's, maybe some of the other experts can expand upon what I have started.

Powerchips?

Hi guys.

I've looked up the website and made an online equiry. I've got a W124 300CE-24 with 5-speed stick shift and Sportline suspension. Top speed of close to 150mph is OK, but it could be quicker getting there . ... .
I'm a bit concerned about Powerchips and would be grateful for some advice. ALL of the other companies I've approached regarding chipping have told me that this model wasn't 'chipable'. Powerchips claim they can give me an extra 30bhp - pushing it up to 250bhp total for 1,000 Aussie Dollars. If they can, then fine, I don't mind paying, but like most people I work hard for my money (hmmm, sounds like a good title for a song!!) and don't want to 'piss it up the wall' as we say here in the UK (no offence intended). Are they on the level??

Please help.
