W124 spring/shock combo ride question.

Hi All,

After reading numerous posts regarding springs and shocks for w124s, i need some feedback. How can one tell if the spring/shock combo is....

1. a good match
2. spring too STIFF for the shock
3. spring to SOFT for the shock
