Question Improved Headlines

Hi,
I did the searches, and I got confused; Relays, e-somthings, an indicator light staying on???
I have a 95 SL500 and a 95 C280. I'd like to do something to improve the high beam and low beam. What can I do without dropping a ton of cash, or having to pay someone a lot of money to help me out.

Additionally, can I really replace my 'fog' lights with really really bright lights?

Thanks

David

just about all automobile manufacturers save money by using wire that is too small a gauge.

relays use a larger gauge wire and are hooked up directly to the battery. you get all the juice you can, no voltage drop.
they do make a difference.

what kind/type of bulbs are you using? [for the 202]

a premium bulb [+30 or +50] would help. you can also consider something a bit hotter than standard because of the glass lenses.

daniel stern sells relays.

you could upgrade the sl oem factory hid.

your 202 takes H4 headlight bulbs, H3 for fogs.

there are many bulb options for you, different wattages, colors.

your sl takes a 9004 bulb, a pretty inadequte bulb.

to upgrade the sl's lights, you'd need to either get , 'european headlights'
or OEM mercedes 'high intensity discharge' aka XENON lights. both types can easily be retrofitted.

The really late model R129s in Europe had Xenon Projectors for the low beam and I even think the high beam as well. I am sure they had projectors for low beams though.

Those would be amazing.

For the 202, try getting your hands on some C43 Xenon lights OE (original Equipment).
