Thanks / Now about switch removal
Thanks Guys,
There is no doubt that poor connections are the problem. After seeing bob's post i went in the garage and in about 10 minutes had the multipin connector off the switch. Depending on how much pressure I put on the rear of the connector I could make it fail or make it work. The rear of the switch barrel seems to be anchored in a fashion that allows some pivot movement. I can't seem to be able to feel or find a screw or stud where the barrel attaches to the mounting (part of the steering column casting). Do you have any suggestions for removal ? I have done a posting search and have not found anything related to the 500sl. Years ago I did remove the switch from a 107 but this is a bit different Bobterry99, thanks for your last answers to my slooooooow rear deck lid. I checked for leaks, (none) and low fluid level (ok). The rear deck lid closes normally and the top cycles normally. The rear lid just opens very slowly. I think it may be worthwile to just replace the cylinders. What do you folks think??? Thanks Dan |
