PBR Brake Pads

Does anyone have an idea who in Canada might distribute PBR Deluxe brake pads? I have had it with brake dust all over my front wheels on my 500SL and the PBR brand seems to get good reviews. Thanks in advance.

I did some internet searching when I was looking for brake pads and found out that PBR are also sold under the new brand name AXXIS. The one that is best for dust is the Deluxe (organic). I found them at Advance Auto Parts (got them in in 2 days), not sure if in Canada, but should be available under AXXIS Deluxe elsewhere. Advance called them Beck Arnley Axxis Deluxe Organic.

As I recall this is a tale of corporate mergers - what was once Repco Deluxe became Axxis which then sold to PBR. It's an Australian product. Try a google search - something is bound to turn up in Canada. If you can find the U.S. distributor I'm sure they could help you. With the NAFTA is it not possible to order from U.S. mail order companies?

The other post is correct, the pads are Australian and don't leave much dust, PBR pads are harder then Merc TEXTAR pads, so they tend to do a better job at wearing your disks out instead of dusting your mags! Seems like a sacrafice, disks to dust or dust to mags, enjoy the dust! At least you get a visual improvement after you clean your rims and you know the Textar pads seem to haul up these beasties better than PBRS and leave your disks alone.
I can get PBRs down the road here in Oz, however drive miles to get Textars.
Seems it's the typical, you don't want what you can have easily and want what you have to work hard at to get! Reminds me of a female I once knew, but thats another story! Good luck with the AXXIS/PBRs if you decide to go down that path.

That PBR pads are hard on rotors is not correct. There's no measureable different in rotor wear between the two. PBR pads simply don't put off a black brake dust. Nothing wrong with Texstar but your original question indicated that you were tired of the dust. Texstars are ideal for people who get some perverse pleasure out of washing their wheels once a week - and such people do exist.

The AXXIS/PBR "Metalmaster" is the harder pad. Less pad wear, more metallic filler. The "Deluxe" organics are also semi-metallic, but are softer and less dusty. In my opinion, should be no worse on rotors than original MB/Textar.
