'80 SLC rear engine/trans mount

I recently bought a new rear engine/tranny mount. Reading my mercedes CD manual for guidance to replace, it say's do not remove the closing plate(support plate under tranny)to remove the mount, and it doesn't offer any other way of doing it.

I see no other way of accessing that mount unless that plate is removed. I understand I'd have to support the tranny under the pan to remove the plate but the CD say's don't remove plate.

Has anyone else done this before and have suggestions? I think the MB CD is incomplete and quite misleading.

Sorry, I didn't know that was taboo, I just thought someone in the SL section might know more of the particulars on the subject.

But the problem is ...

No one likes to see a question left unanswered on any forum that they contribute to. So it is frustrating when there is double- or triple-posting like this. Out of courtesy, I think this should be done only when there is no answer on the original post, and then it should be with a link to the unanswered post.

I can appreciate your point of view, and I did apologized for posting the same question in the tech forum and SL forum at the same time. But as far as I know no forum rules were disrespected.

What I found extremely "annoying" was your vicious attack for such a minor incident. That was quite disturbing and unbecomeing for someone who has been entrusted to moderate this community. Sorry that it annoyed you so much, maybe a new rule sould be created to soothe your personal intolerance on this matter.

As far my posting on the SL107 forum, that site has no connection to this site and I have to wonder who appointed you to the WWW censor commitee. While I'm sure many people appreiciate your advice as much as I have, please do not try to enforce your will as to where and when I can post inquiries.

Thank you, I apologized and accepted your advice about not double posting, a simple word was all that was needed.
