129 Tech Training CD-ROM(also in Tech Forum)

As a DIY wannabe, I came accross this CD-ROM available at MBUSA,

http://www.mercedestechstore.com/R129.htm

and it appears from the sample page, the CD could be a great learning tool. Unfortunately, it appears that it is only available to MB Certified Techs. Has anybody seen the full contents of this CD and comment on content? Are they available from another source for us rookies? TIA for your comments!

Bob

Jaybro, no I didn't...yet. I took the statement MBUSA makes on this site's homepage at face value. I was frankly hopeful that an MB Tech(s) in these forums would offer to buy it for me. If that fails, I'll try calling direct, but I'm obviously not optimistic. Thanks for asking-

Bob

Although this information can be useful for Mercedes-Benz owners and independent repair facilities, it is intended solely for use by
service personnel properly trained and qualified to perform work on Mercedes-Benz vehicles and who have access to, and experience in, using the necessary tools, equipment and literature, required to perform service and repair work accurately and safely.

The statement looks like a disclaimer of liability. It does not say anything about having to be a tech to buy. If they had one for a 107 I would have already called. It looks much better than the poor pdf's on my MB CD.

Any tech's seen these DVD's???

I have the CD. It is pretty useless. Much of it is a technical introduction for someone who is not at all familiar with the car. There are videos for some disassembly procedures including R&R-ing a convertible top, but these are available somewhere on this site: http://www.classic-roadster.de.

Well...when someone of Bob Terry's reputation, credibility, and knowledge calls something 'useless', that's enough for me. Thanks Bob.
