R129 inside rearview mirror question

I belive that the sensor for the infared key.

I have a sub question for 129 owneres with this kind of mirror. In particulare 1996 and later years.

Being that this mirror is connected to the Driver Authorization System (DAS) via the CAN buss. If the mirror is removed can you unlock and lock the car and start the engine.

I have tried this option, if it should be the infrared receiver for the remote keyless entry, but it doesn’t seem to work. Maybe it’s broken. Tank you again.

Yes.. and? The key work on the doors and the trunk, but not at the mirror. So I'm not sure if it's a battery problem in the key.
