Combination Switch (turn signal) Compatability

I have a '75 450 SL that the combination switch is out (blinker won't blink, even if it did, the lever doesn't stay in position). I've t-shot it down to the switch, so I now need a new one. It happens that my vin puts me in the most expensive switch there is. If I don't care that much about the exact cosmetics of the switch, can I put another year's switch in there? The pinout looks the same. Thanks in advance.

Chris

Not without modification. Later 107's eliminated the foot switch for the washer pump and put it on the stalk (where it belongs). I changed my 75. If you want a list of the wiring changes needed let me know.
