Sometimes Smell Gas ...but I Can't Find A Leak Anywhere. No Drips, No Wet Spots On The Engine. Any Thoughts Or Experience With Something Like This??

Can you narrow it down? Is it worse just after you fill up? Have you done anything to the car lately? Anyone service it? Is it worse in front or in back or inside? Does the car have to be running for the odor to be present?

If you smell gas in the cabin and you cant find any leak. For me it was the gas cap.

I replaced every rubber fuel hose in the car from the tank to the engin back to the tank and all evap lines. I was just about to pull the tank and replace the charecoal canister when smeone on this sight advised me to try a gas cap. Being the chaepest and easies of the task I tried it. No more gas oder.
At about $15 its worth a try. John Roncallo |
