Troubling Sound
My 1997 SL500 makes a metal clanking against metal sound. The sound comes from under the front end and only when accelerating from a slow rolling speed ( as if not coming to a full and complete stop at a stop sign ).Accelerating from a dead stop- no sound. Any suggestions appreciated. Hope to head off any major repair bill. Thanks.
