Follow the link below, found with a simple search of the forum, to the answer you want (my post in that thread has a link to a detailed guide)
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=73664&highlight=top+lowering And -- Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your "new" car -- You will find that the people on this forum are very knowledgeable about these cars and that there is a myriad of informational posts here for you to review. The key to using the forum and getting along with the other members is to first search for your answer before asking. This is especially true when you yourself have noted that its a "stupid question". In this case it is not a stupid question, dropping the top is not an intuitive task -- but it has been covered in the forum many times and a quick search would bring you your answer. Best of luck with your car.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. At least you knew that it wasn't a powered top. It',s pretty easy to do with the only really big trick is remembering to swing the bar, labelled #9 in the instructions, as you're dropping it. My only advice is don't force anything. It actually is a very ingenious top that will fold away with a minimum of effort. , Another trick is to lay a soft terry towel over the rear windows before you fold them. The towel keep the windows seperated and minimize the scratching that can occur. I have a 3 year old top and there is barely a scratch in the windows. I used to have an excellent link to an article on how to fold the top using the towels. I'll see if I can find it. |
