1999 SL500 Fuel Cap

Just bought the car and the fuel cap wont come off without a fight. I had the salesman give me a new cap, and it wont either. Are there any pins or locks that engage, or do I probably have a bent fuel inlet? It looks ok.......

You have to be strong. Mine is super tight and I have tried at least three different ones .
