107 280SL Battery Group

Anyone know what the proper battery group is for a 1982 280SL? I have not yet seen the car yet, hear that the battery is dead and I'm not at all confident that what it has presently is correct anyway. As a Euro it doesn't show up in U.S. application charts. It looks like it must be a 47, 48 or 49.

Battery in my 280SL is Autozone Duralast group 41-DL.

That's interesting. A 41 is about the same size as a 48 but is actually more powerful than a 48. Some people are saying a 49 which is about 14 inches long but I'm not sure if it will fit.

49 will not fit into the space in W107 body.
