1992 600sl starting problem... stumped!!!

I have a 1992 600sl that is causing me grief

It was stored for two months and the battery went dead. I took it in for testing and they determined that it would not hold a charge, so I replaced it with a new battery.

The car would not start. The SRS light would come on, but no other dash lights. After playing with the seatbelt, the dash lights came on and it started and ran fine.

The problem became worse and eventually playing with seatbelt (and seat wiring) made no difference.

The car is sitting in my garage and won't start. I've been trying to remove the seat, but can't quite figure out how to do tha (I've remove about 7 or 8 torx screws now)

? does anyone know if there are seat of seatbest sensors that will disable the car from being started? I have not found anything to this effect in the user manual.

It was the ignition switch. I removed it and serviced it. It is quite easy to service and even has a little access window on the back. Cleaned all the connections in and out and now it works
