380SL No start - sometimes
Looking for advice on where to start the trouble shooting;
The car: 1982 380SL ,131,000 miles - new distributor/spark plugwires 3 years/10k miles ago. Car will not start when the weather is Deep South Humid, AND, it hasn't been running for 24 hours. Give me a good thunderstorm, and a Humid evening, and the car won't start for 2 days, and then on the third day she starts and purrs like mistress begging for forgiveness - and since she is my mistress.... But I digress - any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? Thank you all. Jim |

Sounds like moisture in the distributor cap, perhaps it's not seated correctly or possibly a crack in the housing. Swap it out with a new one and see what happens.

im with 450, gotta be moisture and electrical - the two dont go well together, you are not leaking water into the interior, perhaps over the ECU or other???
