80 450SL-Possible Blown Engine

Dad gave me this car recently and while at a red light it cut off. Towed it home and since oil looked low I added a few quarts. It ran right through the bottom and came out somewhere behind the oil filter. I never heard any engine noises before it quit, no oil light. Before we knew it was a lack of oil we tried to jump it off and it actually turns (slowly). Does anyone think that this car will run again without a new engine? Is there a market to sell it if not?
