overhead lights- how do I get to the wiring?

I need to get to the ground wire plug that attaches to the overhead passenger side interior light in my 88' 560sl. It came off and there is not enough slack to pull it out to reconnect it. Does anyone know how to take the trim/window conduit off to get to the wiring? I took what I thought were the screws out but it wont budge. My Dad just passed away and left me this car. I really want to get this thing back into shape and here I am struggling with something that should be eazy. (; Thanks for any help

IIRC, you must remove the rear view mirror in order to access some additional screws there.
Good luck.

Well, I looked at the rear view and there are no screws there..?? I'm scared to pull on it. Any Idea of how to get that thing off?

the rear view mirror will pull off with a good yank, there are screws there and then you will be able to pull the pieces away ( carefully)

Why not splice on an extension?

That is my plan. I just can't get to the damn thing without taking the conduit off. No slack.
