95 sl 600 -asr

I have a 95 SL600 with 124K on it. Last year I had the ASR unit on the drivers side go out. The local Benz dealer wanted $4,600 to replace it. I pulled it off and opened it up. The wire shielding fell out in pieces. I seperated each wire and coated them with plastidip coating. Bingo, ran like a champ until last week. I've pulled it off and it didn't look like any of the wires were touching. I checked continuity and it appears several of the wires are connected via the circuit board some where. The wires are numbered and lettered on the circuit board and the plug in. Where can I find out what circuits are tied together? Is there a by pass fix I can do? The car runs, it just won't accellerate fast. It now surges when it wasn't doing this initially. Where can I get a used ASR box without paying $3,600 as some places want. Thanks, Brad
