Brake warning light on

Brake warning light on

I've replaced the motor in my '95 SL500, but now the brake warning light is on. Not the yellow one but the red one. The battery went bad so I temporarily put in one of my trolling motor batteries. Its a big battery but not really for auto use. Could that be the source of the warning light? Brakes are fine before the new motor. Any suggestions?
