As far as the center vent vacuum pot, if that is my trouble, it will have to wait for quite a while! also the vacuum pot just inside the radio "hole", to the left of it inside, does not hold any vacuum! correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that for the defrost vents? (I think I'm starting to get a vacuum in my brain will all of the different vacuum stuff!) and lastly, the fresh air vents do not operate when in heater mode, right? but if the temp. "wheel" is set to a cooler temp., and I am using the economy, or I guess vent mode, no a/c, but the temp. wheel set to a cooler temp, are the fresh air vents supposed to work then, as well as with a/c on? I really could use an owner's manual, as this car did not come with one, or even an "on-line" copy of the owner's manual would be cool!

not sure what setting does what, you can try posting that as a new question , be specific in the question , state year and model. And yes that is the pod for the defrost vents
What I would do is try to test each line I could access using a mity vac ,see if you can get them to move and hold
