500SL (Euro) Owner's Manual Available in .pdf Format

I found a copy of the subject manual on my hard-drive and have no recollection of where I got it. If anyone wants a copy, provide an e-mail address either here or in a PM and I'll forward.

Don

Hi,

Just picked up a 1983 500sl. I could use a copy of this. My manual did not come with it and the fuse door does not have a paper in it to tell me which fuse is for what. My email is bradsscooters@aol.com . Thanks is advance!

Fuse Panel

I have both the engine and chassis manuals for the 107.046 SL and neither shows the fuse panel.

I think the Classic Center can get the paper that is attached to the cover. It is in German on one side and English on the other. Worth a call to check availability.

500SL (Euro) Fuse Panel Diagram Available

Rowdy,

Thanks for the suggestion to contact the classic center. I contacted them and received the diagram as you described.

Anyone desiring a copy of the fuse panel diagram can request one here or shoot me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll forward you the diagrams I received from the classic center.

Regards,

Don

1983-500SL Manual

I would like to get the 500 SL manual in english if the .pdf file is still available. I am also looking for a parts manual in the same type format. I am trying to identify a part that might be missing on my 1983 500SL. It would go under the dash and would possibly keep or catch the a/c condensation from running on to the floor. Any information, photos, part numbers and help in this area will be appreciated.
Thanks you in advance for your help.

I will be glad to send you a copy of the owner's manual if you will send me a good e-mail address, either in a PM or posted here.

For everyone:

I also have a copy of the fuse diagram for the Euro 500SL. Shoot me a PM or post your e-mail address here as well.

If you want manuals for your Euro car, there is a website Books4Cars.com - Every Repair Manual, Service Manual, Owners Manual and Book for your Car, Truck and Motorcycle which sometimes has the appropriate manuals. I've picked up the namuals for the 117.96X engine, both chassis manuals, the tech specifications, heating and A/C systems and one other I can't recall. Prices are reasonable.

Hijacking This Thread I Started for Question About MonoValve

With the A/C on I have good cold air coming out of the center vents and warm air coming out of the side vents. I thought the problem was with the monovalves, so I replaced both to no effect. I stumbled across a completely new DUAL monovalve assembly on eBay (Part # 1 147 412 004) and jumped right on it. (Mercedes wanted about $1,200 for it and said they could only find one. I got it for $148.00, which was a steal.)

Before I installed the new monovalve assembly, I had HOT air coming out of one side and warm out of the other. Center vents still blowing cold. The new one at least eliminated the super hot air.

FYI, before I replaced the monovalve assembly I had all three hoses going to the monovalve clamped off, as well as the hose going through the firewall on the driver's side.

I've ordered the heating and A/C manual--mentioned in my previous post--hoping that I can solve the problem with it. However, if somebody has already fixed this problem in their vehicle, I'd love to know how you solved it.

Thanks!

Don
