83 380sl
I found a 74 107 that has a crossmember for the 83 that tore off.
Are you able to remove the complete axle from the 74 and install onto the 83? What parts do you guys reccomend to replace while removing and replacing it. Should I just replace the crossmember and not the axle? Suggestions. I will reinforce the crossmember tabs while it is out of the car. ![]() Motor mounts, rubber bushings?

Strip it down completely and use your parts. The subframe/axle carrier is the same. Many of the parts attached parts are not. Install all new bushings and motor mounts. If it is from a US 450SL/C model the subframe may already have the gussets welded in.

Thanks, it is from a 74 450sl us, I am hoping it that it has been upgraded and not cracked. Hopefully it was recalled at some point.
