How does one access the oil level sensor on the 119 engine. The right side
of the oil pan is wet with oil. The leakage doesn't appear to be coming from the valve cover and the oil pan is tight. Thanks |

On the in line 6 cars, the sensor bolts to the side of the oil pan with 2 bolts, the V8 should be the same. There is an o ring for sealing and one wire for sensing.
If the leak is around the sensor, change the o ring. If leaking from the wire connection, change the sensor. You will need to drain the oil for this change |

The m119 engines oil sensor is accessed after removing the lower sump.

1998 R129 Oil Level Sensor
Thanks for the reply. Can one change the O-rings without
dropping the lower pan? This site and all of you who contribute is a God-send. I'm almost 77 and still trying to maintain this old man's corvette. |

No, the connector and o ring withdraw inwards. Sump must be removed.
