Realistically is there any value in my old M117?
I have a D jet 1974 450SLC that I'm swapping. The engine will come out once I have a buyer or its time to put the M104 in the car. I still have a ways to go on that front and I'm collecting parts to mock up on a spare sub frame.
The engine has 220,000 miles on it and runs ok and the trans shifts decent but both are only ok and I can tell the cams are worn and really these should be rebuilt. Realistically is anyone going to want this as a rebuildable core? I might start parting out the D jet stuff if not.

I'm assuming it's not worth anything then? I'll be scrapping the long block then.

If you have not already done so, consider keeping the intermediate plate (aka, trans adapter), and the ring gear if it is the type that bolts to the torque convertor. Those items are useful in doing trans swaps, and can be used with the aluminum blocks as well as the iron ones. |
