Standard or vented ?
Rear brake discs
I'm replacing my rear discs...have the choice between vented vs. standard. Vented looks a bit thicker thus would be harder to get the brakes back on? Can anyone attest to the worthiness of paying the premium for vented? Perhaps more suitable for front discs, not rears? Thanks in advance! |

Much will depend on how you drive your car. It just puttering around, no hard driving, standard rotors are fine. If on the other hand you drive aggressively and use hard braking, the vented rotors will resist warping much better. In the end it is about rotor cooling needs based on your usage style. One note of warning, is if you get solid rotors, make sure they are truly solid and not laminated.

Be advised you may need new calipers too as the ventilated rotors are thicker at the caliper.
