Trunk problems 380sl

When I open the trunk on my '85 380 SL, I find there are black crumbs of a deteriorating plastic or foam. I think they are coming from a spacer between the sheet metal skin and the X frame. Any suggestions on how to replace this?

Also, I can't open the trunk with a key when the car is locked. If the car hasn't been run in a few days, I have to start it to get a vacuum to open the trunk. Any fixes for this?
