78 450SCL Gas Tank into a 1973 450SL

I purchased this gas tank when I was told it would fit onto my 1973 450SL. The gas tanks appear different. Anyone know wht it take to make the 78 gas tank fit onto the 73 gas tank.. Different # of hoses..
