Hard Top Hoist
I just installed an electric hoist I bought from HTH Co. for my 98 SL500 ... easy to install and works great. How heavy is our hard top? Anybody knows?

Only 75 #? Seems more than that. The electric hoist cost $755 while the manual $385. The electric is the way to go. So easy to operate without help ... a one man operation.

And the manual is a one-man operation too. Just not as cool.

Exactly G-Benz -- the manual hoists are much, much less $ than the electric versions, and the winch isn't much more difficult to use than a push button.

Damn folks, $755 for a hoist. Try Mega-Mart. Get a $10 boat trailer winch, a couple of bucks for some cable and pullys, and $10 worth of nylon straps and Bob's your uncle as they say.

I considered those less expensive hoists, but they all have the tendency to damage the rubber seals around. The HTH hoist craddles the top like a baby.
