My new SL

Because of this:
http://homepage.mac.com/deneals/PhotoAlbum54.html

I just got this:
http://homepage.mac.com/deneals/SL500.htm

I spent a month looking for the right car. Thanks to several Mercedesshop forum members for their help.

Congrats!

The best part is that your old SL protected you in that accident so that you could live to get another one!

Nice looking SL. Congrats and good luck. Let us know how you like the difference from a v6 to the v8.

If you want to know how crooked a stick is, just lay a straight one next to it.

It's not the tall sails that bring a ship to the port of destination, but the unseen wind.

The truth is, I LOVE IT!!
I was quite surprised that I got about the same highway mpg with the V8, 26.4. I haven't had it long enough to check city mpg yet.

With the 320, you put your right foot to the floor and you get decent acceleration. With the V8, you get a rocket ship!

Only problem is that after I got it home, the soft top would not raise. I'm having my mechanic look at it this afternoon.

BTW EVERYONE:
I have a white hardtop available for an R129 with a gray headliner available!

OMG that's a pretty car. Love the dark colors on them.
Yeah, the kids get big in a hurry.

Bruce: The SL320 is an inline 6 (M104) not a V6, they didn't put the V6 in a US version 129.

Deneals, I liked your aircraft pictures, in that one picture from Denver, is that plane your company had 33 of, is that an MU2?
I worked part-time at MSN from about 85 to 90 roughly on the line, had one customer with an Moo-2, hated that sum-buck I'll tell ya.

Yes the last company I worked for had 8 MU2s. The 33 planes were a different company, also high wing but piston Aero Commanders.

If you worked the line around MU2s you might be hard of hearing. I know of two line attendants who literally lost their heads to MU2s.

But from the inside, its a great airplane.

As a matter of fact I am down about 30ish percent on my hearing and can barely pass a class 3 flight phys because of it (without a flight test for the problem). I do attribute alot of it to KVA's, and that damn ugly BLACK MU2. Oh, did I mention stupidity too? I didn't think so.
Yes, they are quite fast as I remember hearing (back when I could hear ), but known to be, I guess the proper term is "Dr Killer", like the V tails.
I was thinking that picture may have been a Commander, was that picture I saw a MU2 or a Commander?
But YES you develop a healthy respect for ground-handling it, I can see where an inattentive line crew may not have the brightest outlook towards a natural death, shall we say?
Been out of the flight-thing for I guess over 10 yrs now, even my wife bugs me to get current again.
