Looking for an original AMG kit for my '79 450 SEL 6.9. The side skirts look identical to the 126 skirts, but the front air dam and rear skirt are unique to the 116. Let me know what is out there-

research has given me fairly little unless you want a crappy replica. But lets see if someone has one and then we can split it, Ill take the front end and driver side skirt, you can have the rest.

The thing that kills me is that I HAD one - it was on a '77 450 parts car which was stolen from my storage area. That was an authentic AMG 116 kit (It was stamped on the bottom side of the rear apron), so I know that they exist, but is a rare item indeed.

What do the pieces look like?

Here's a W116 with a kit fitted, just need to part it out: AMG kitted 450SEL on eBay

The AMG parts would be worth easily the opening asking price. I would bid if I was on the same continent!

Interesting thing about that car is that the rims are the standard MB rims and not AMG rims.

Also, the AMG kit that I have seen is simply made of fiber glass. If this is the case, it should be fairly easy to have a mold made and duplicate the original pieces.

There is a guy in the USA who has heaps of old AMG parts - everything you can think of; go to EBAY; Note he advises as follows:
