That won't run $17k like the one example posted here in the classified section? Hell yes I'd love a perfect example, but I think very possible to find a clean one with about 100k miles for less than ten grand. Again, where to look becomes the question...

Hello,

When looking around for price comparison, I found that the classified section on Yahoo can do a search all over the U.S. You just enter a zip code for a search. You will have better luck if you do a search with just the model #, leaving out the letter(s). It usually also lists mileage and asking price.

Happy hunting.

Thanks Larry - have looked at W123s through Yahoo Classifieds and agree that it is a good source, but so many high high high mileage, junk, rusted, worn, dicey models to sort through. I'm looking for a really well-maintained, clean coupe (turbodiesel would be preferable but 280 is great as well) and was hoping someone might have an idea as to a large lesser-known but MB-specific auction house or community devoted to moving older models.

The one listed in here in Mercedesshop sounded IDEAL (owned by mech, etc), but I'm having trouble with paying seventeen large for the car, esp when I can get a mint SL (retail, no less) for that kind of money...

Well,...
There's a place here locally that has a W123 CD for sale with 80 or 88k miles (don't remember which). Looks really, really nice, I can find out how much he wants for it, but I hear he's not the cheapest, not to mention its in Florida and you're in Ca.
Florida seems to have a good amount of W123's, especially Diesels. I don't know about other states but I see alot of them down here.

Happy Hunting!

Larry - thanks for the kind offer but I'll pass due to the geography - there's GOT to be a few out here on the west coast...
