WTB: Wheels from 66-67 W108 or W109, or W113 63-67

I'm looking for a set of Wheels from 66-67 W108 or W109 or W113 63-67. These wheels have the two piece hub-cap / trim ring.
I would also like to get the trim rings for these wheels.

Please send PM or email mike_mangrum@yahoo.com with pictures and price.

Thanks,
Mike

Pic

Attached is a pic from the W108.org site. They are steel wheels with 2 piece hub cap / trim ring. I'm upgrading a 220S from 13" to 14" so I'll use my existing hub caps but the 13" trim rings won't fit the 14" wheels so I'll also need the 14" trim rings. Wheel size, part number, maker and date of manufacture should all be stamped near the wheel center hole. The part number is 108 400 00 02.

Thanks,
Mike

You need the wheels off a 66-67 W108 or W109, or a set from a W113 63-67.

Everything after 67 had full wheelcovers, and no spring loaded hubcap retainers.

Thanks, for the clarification, Jim. I've seen the full wheelcover; the 2 piece hub caps were a mystery to me.

Thanks

Yes, thanks Jim and daw_two. Attached is a pic of an early 108 part # 108 400 00 02. I did not know about the year range or that the W109 ones would also work.

The 14" trim ring is also different from the 13".

The sedans had a slotted trim that hooked under the hubcap, and the 190SLs had a smooth ring that stopped before the hubcap and also revealed the wheel color.

The W113 pagoda SLs were all 14" wheels, and used a larger version of the 190SL wheel trim up thru 1967. When the W108/W109 series was introduced in 1966, they used the same hubcap/trim the SLs had concurrently.

I believe the SL wheel is wider than the sW108/W109, but the hubcap and trim appeared identical.

Both series graduated to the full wheelcover upon the introduction of the W114/W115 series in 1968.

Don't get me started on all the variations of those wheelcovers.....

Jim

so, would the wheels off a 280CE (not for sure of the year) work? I took pics of them, but my headache is preventing me from going to the truck to get camera.

I doubt a 280CE would work for me. I believe the 280CE is a W114 1973–1976 or W123 1977–1985. I need W108 or W109 1966-1967 , or W113 1963-1967.

Thanks for checking, though.
