can I please pay you with a Money order? I have had some bad experiences with paypal. I have feedback and references on many other car forums as well as ebay feedback under user MactasticG4 |
Sev, I would think that he knows I have a non-getrag 5-speed, but worst case scenario, I can cut and weld to make any set work :)
the dealer wanted a million billion for a special order clutch line, so I am trying to find a company that can make me one for less. |
a million? a million 50,000ths of a dollar? a million yen?
I don't see a denomination! haha |

Bushings are a dealer item
I just changed mine. I was pleasantly supprised the dealer stocked them, but I'm guessing they are used on all Mercedes of that period, both standard and automatic. I also changed the two inside the shifter.
You might be able to find a place to make a custom flexible hydraulic line from the old ridgid line using the fittings. This place did a power steering steering line for me: http://www.ormebrothers.com/ |
yeah, I'm looking at getting one made since its gonna really take a bite out of my swap funds if I have to special order one from MB.
I'll be going to MB for the bushings on my old 240D 4-speed trans (should be the same) that thing is sloppier than rosie o'donnel on a friday night in a bar. |
haha, you caught me!
she was a bit rough though |

I have a 5-spd out of an 86 2.3 16V Getrag 717.404, maybe Iam missing it, but I see no Vacuum anything. I had to replace the clutch line from the slave cylinder, which snakes over the top of the transmission. Bought it from the dealer, think it was $72. comes as a straight piece that has to be formed. I used the old piece as a guide, Just use your 2 thumbs, and it is easy to form w/o kinking it. Just make sure is is warmed up and not cold. Charlie |

I could get a brand new custom made stainless steel line made for less than that. also, this part isn't listed in the parts on this site. |
Bump this up, I need a clutch line still and id like linkages too, but those aren't a necessity.
