I'm selling the 4.5 that I pulled out of my old 1972 280se 4.5 two years ago. It has the iron, not alloy, block. It's the low compression US version. When I got rid of the sedan I couldn't part with the engine. It was too freakin' awesome to sell. Now, I just don't plan on doing anything with it. I have sold every last d-jet related part off of the engine, so the intake manifold is pretty much naked. I figure it'll make a good back-up, or install all the d-jet components and put the engine back to work. The 3 speed transmission shifted great for the 2 years I drove the car.

I feel a little defeated selling the 4.5, but my other Mercedes projects need parts, and that requires a little extra spending money.
