Looks like a workable black dash. Will that Palomino interior fit in a W123 300D ok? It may not be perfect but it looks alot better than the Texas burnt stuff I have.

I'll be happy to pull the front seat skins off. It's a w123!!!! Yes, it fits. Anyone want the backseat? Cheap.

Dash would be workable, except for the big gash around the ignition switch.

VIN check ????

Can someone run a VIN check for me?

WDBAB 23A2BB264261

Thanks.

EDIT: Well, here's what I found:

Enter the VIN:
Data for the model

VEHICLE TYPE: Car
MODEL NAME: 240 D USA
ENGINE: 616912 10 224400
TRANSMISSION: 00 073169
BODY: 26219
ORDER NUMBER: 0170520848
LIGHTS: BOSCH
INTERIOR COLOR: 134
PAINTS: 623 34

I will say this ---- the interior color of this 240D looks completely different than the 1981 300D NA Palomino : http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-cars-sale/339723-fs-1981-w123-300d-light-ivory-palomino%3B-memphis-tn%3B-delivery-possible.html

Some interesting tidbits about MB interior colors here.

Polsterungen

This is the code that is in the 240D which looks EXACTLY like the bamboo interior in both of my cars.

and this is the one that is listed as bamboo on the site above

This is the bamboo in my 240D

and the 280E

confused yet

I don't think so. The tobacco is darker. I think someone must have swapped interiors on that car. That is the only explanation for the batman headrest.

On a side note I did look at greyhound for shipping and it was in the $75 range which isn't all that bad for something that size. I need to think about that.

I do definitely want the front passenger seat skins and the c-piller trim since they are the correct color and in better shape than what i have now. If no one wants the door cards I will also take the grab handle and chrome trim from the rear driver door.

Tobacco is indeed. I have tobacco in a 1980 300SD and this looks the same. There is also a yet darker shade of brown in some W116's called Brazil that you may be thinking of (don't know if it also came in W123's).

The car in this post is indeed bamboo. Here's how I tell the difference when looking at a tan W123 interior:
* Is faded to pink? It's palomino.
* Is ugly? Is palomino.
* Looks nice with an unexplainable appeal, never fading to pink? Is bamboo.
