parting beautiful ivory 1983 240D (SF, CA)
this is a near-creampuff W123 sedan chassis (1983 US market 240D), ivory exterior, palomino interior. steel wheels with color matched hubcaps. the engine is kaput, so i'm parting it out. car has not been registered since 2012. this can be someone's manual conversion of a 300D, and/or a new shell for building a project W123.
you must come pull the parts in the city of SF. anyone who wants random small parts, please write me, i'll invite you over to pick after any of the major assemblies are sold. just make an offer on any of the following (hint hint, forum members get a better deal!): * rolling chassis * 4 doors / glass * seats / carpet / interior * manual transmission / clutch / flywheel (previous owner said it was hard to shift into first) * hood & trunk lid * driveshaft / axles * differential / cluster (3.69 ratio) * manual climate control with A/C photos are in my CL ad: clean, garaged W123 rolling chassis & all parts

Why would you tear apart a perfect shape W123 when it could easily be sold as a complete car to put an engine into, or replace the engine. Replacing the motor on a 240 has got to be about the easiest job ever!

That what I was thinking, why part out a perfectly good car? If I had the place for it I would grab it. I have an engine I could stuff in it. There is a guy on CL I think in Sacramento that has a OM616 and 4-spd for $500.
Ya I know, part it out and make more than just selling the car as a whole none runner. But we don`t know the circumstances. space etc... I have a 78 240D with a bad eng, at my bro in laws and just bought a 83 Nissan PU. so...dang not place for another. Charlie
