late model valve cover
Which late model w124 cover are you talking about?
Which harness would I need to use to use the late model valve cover and the cross over tube on my w124? I would like to be able to use a 3.6 crossover tube on my w124 coupe but I don't want cut up the rubber on my harness and I don't want to modify the tube but I guess that might not be possible? |

You are going to have to make some mod to the inside channel of valve cover as the rubber will not fit quite right unless you are using a c36 harness and valve cover. I was going to dremmel it out and use zip ties. There is no easy answer if you are using any w124 harness on the swap. The 3.2 w124 valve cover will not work with the larger 3.6 tube as it does not line up properly. You have to use the later style one that was used on w202 cars.

more mods
I will still have to make mods to the 3.6 cross-over tube correct?
My understanding is that the tube will not line up with the air cleaner box because the box is not located in the same exact location as the w124? Getting ahold up a c36 upgraded wiring harness at a reasonable price might be a little difficult. Having w124 harness that ends in 2933 won't help me any? |

Yes, if you use any w124 wiring harness you will have to modify the w202/w210 style valve cover. I was planning on taking a dremmel to mod the metal channel on the inside cover for the wiring harness rubber. You need to use the correct style valve cover with this piece or else you are dead in the water. No mods needed to the actual crossover tube.
The C36 wiring harnesses are pricey and not very common. |
