FS: (Southern California) om603 Turbodiesel Engine, Running, Complete
Known good, running om603 engine that is still inside a running and driving 1986 300SDL with approximately 275,000 miles. Engine will be sold with the car.
Price for the engine with the entire running/driving car is $2200 or best offer. Strongly prefer local buyer who can drive/tow vehicle away as one whole unit, but willing to negotiate with a non-local buyer who just needs the engine! The engine, fuel pump, transmission, rims, and other parts on the vehicle are easily worth this price if I sell them all separately, and the car also has utility value as a daily driver parts hauler. I'm not asking a fortune for all you get, but for someone who wants not only the engine, but all the wiring and accessories that goes along with it, along with the ability to drive the car under load, and hear the engine run before they buy it so they know it's good, it is a value. Sure, junkyard engines can be obtained for cheaper, and maybe you should try that route if money is really tight. But then you have to first find one, hope that the cylinder head is good, then haul your entire tool collection there to pull it and never know the history or what exactly you're getting into. Known good engine, no overheat problems, good compression across all cylinders last time I tested it (sorry, don't have numbers available since it was a couple of years ago I tested compression on it) Donor vehicle has been daily driven for the past few years and will be continued to be used as a parts hauler / beat around shop truck until someone wants it for the engine/transmission. The body and paint aren't pretty but both the engine and transmission are strong. I can palletize, crate and ship anywhere nationwide or worldwide. No address too remote for me to send this to as long as you're willing to pay for the freight. For serious offers, feel free to PM me and we can negotiate the details. If these are going for $2k, I have a gold mind sitting out in my shop.

The engine comes with the entire car. The parts value of the a running, registered, driving car with good engine, good transmission, good rims, etc. is over $2000 if I part out just the big parts. Bumpers, fenders, etc will net even more. So that's why I have it at $2200. Thank you for the comment and bumping up my post!
