WTB: W123 rear hydraulics
Call me crazy. I have a W123 coupe and since it needs shocks, I was thinking about hydraulic kind, which this particular car wasn't equipped with.
Anybody have a set of rear shocks, the control valve and the little arm that connects the valve to the rear sway bar? I think I have all the under the hood stuff I need already in my spare parts pile. Thx -CTH PS. Spam bots need not apply. |

CTH - Are you planning on changing the cylinder head for the SLS pump?

Will be doing an engine swap. Might also use a r229 pump. -cth

control valve w/arm
I have at least one. And a pump or two.
I do not receive thread alerts anymore; so posting a reply won't get my attention. The last PM message didn't find its way to me, either .So I post this, and then try to remember to check my PM's for a few days. HTH. --frankb

This guy put SLS shocks into a w124 sedan in the rear and front. The process might apply to w123 but you'll have to spend a lot of money and time to get it right. Of course if you do it all yourself and it's a hobby and you have lots of free time and money to burn on the project, then go for it. You might try reaching out to him:

Thanks for that. The W124 can use the W129 hydraulic front shocks, presuming you can find a 600SL donor and you have the patience to adapt the system over.
Adding front hydraulics on the W123 is a welding job because of how the front shocks mount on the car. Basically to take the cups used for a W116 hydraulic car and mount them on the W123. While I happen to have those, I am not going to do that. I'm just going to stick to the rear. -CTH |

I have an extra set of the W123 Rear SLS Shocks, Pump & Valve with Lever Arm.
As you probably already know, if you are fortunate to have a Gas M110 Engine installing the Pump is easy. Remove RH Cover Plate, remove RH Camshaft Sprocket Bolt & install the Pump Drive with same Bolt & then Pump. PM if you need parts
