Need Source for 17" AMG (or replicas) to fit 560sl HELP

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a set of AMG or AMG replica rims for my dad's 560sl. The problem is, finding anything with low offset is near impossible. I've talked to several companies that used to carry AMG replicas by CSA that were appropriate, but none in the USA that still do. Are there any sources out there that still sell low offset AMG replicas, or anyone that has a set of low offset AMG replicas or authentic AMG's? I need to throw a set of Aero 1's, Aero II's or even Penta's on there. Thanks for your help.
Scott

Wheels for 1991 560 SEC

Would the wheels you mention here Bigshot also be applicable to a '91 560 SEC. I am contemplating buying this car and it needs tires and the wheels are not the nicest. What is the downside of installing a oversized wheel? I wonder about things like the speedometer reading true and rubbing in the wheel well when you get into 16" or 17" wheels.
The previous one owner of my 1984 380 SL replaced the 14" wheels with 15" 560 SL wheels in 1986 and it is fine as I use 225/60/15 tires on it.

As the wheels get bigger, the tire sidewalls get narrower. You end up with "low profile" tires, when you increase the size of your wheels. The idea is to maintain the overall diameter and thus there is no change in rolling circumference. You do give up comfort as the profile of the tire decreases, although you gain better handling.

For example, my car
Stock: 195/65/15
Current set-up: 205/55/16
Could use: 215/45/17

Note that as the wheels went from 15, to 16, and to 17, that the sidewall went from 65, to 55, and then to 45, respectively.

Places like Tirerack.com have all of the dimensions for the tires. If you define your car on the website, they even give the recommended size for the tires as you increase the size of your wheels.

There are also other criteria, like the centerbore of the wheel, the bolt pattern, and the offset for the wheels. You have to be sure that the wheels are designed to fit your car. Getting the right tires should be easy, if you find the right wheels for you car. If you have any doubts, you should consult Luke at Tirerack to be sure you are getting the correct wheels for your car. Luke is an expert on wheels and tires. He may also be an expert at many other things, but you can be sure that he can help you with wheels and tires.

based on the Tirerack fitment guide, it looks like you can even go up to 18" x 8.5" wheels with 245/40/18 tires.

Thanks for the detailed information. Tire Rack shows 24 wheels for the 560 SEC and they state that they guarantee fit if they list it for a particular vehicle. Also of interest when you match a wheel with a tire they show the revolutions per mile which would allow one to calculate any speedometer difference there may be. They make it easy! I have made two previous purchases from Tire Rack and have been very satisfied.

The Tirerack website really is great! I have had good experiences with them too. I purchased springs, AMG wheels, and tires from them. In particular, Luke really helped me when I was struggling to get my suspension set-up the way I wanted. He definitely knows what he is talking about. Dealing with him is one of those times that you know you are talking to an expert. It is very reassuring.

Good luck with your car.
