Luke, Benzmac, Webmaster? Error on Diffs?
Alright, First I probbly have a huge speedo error. Found out the 93 190E 2.6 auto had a 2.85:1 rear diff. While doing all my searching, I found that the 300SL in 93 had a 3.69:1 ratio in automatic form. So called up RC-imports, got PGAuto's number, and got the diff in a few days.
Now since they are finally installed, I am shocked. Didn't think that an upgrade less then $500 could make such a remarkable difference. The shifts are a quicker, and more noticeable however, but its a slight cost. Now as far as calculating the speedo error, I know its noticeable, cause I can't be doing the speed it tells me I am. Doe sit make sense if I say if I am showing 80, its more like 60? Is it a striaght 3.69/2.85 = the % error? Now I am assuming I just have to adjust the speedo, and thats the easiest way of handling it? DOn't have ASR so not a problem, but haven't noticed it effecting ABS or anything else. Should be clean right?

The change in gear ratio will make the car quicker accelerating and shifting. I believe you can get a different speedo gear to correct the error from a MB dealer.
