Question 87 260E W124 17" recommendation needed...

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum. I just acquired an '87 260 and need recommendation for 17" rims. I'm planning to buy Carlsson 1/6 and need to know which width/offset and tire size i should purchase. I need all corners to be of the same size for rotation and don't want rubbing. Please note that it's been lowered a little with HR or Eibach springs... not sure... Tirerack recs 215/45/17 with 17x7.5 but want to know what else others think.

I'm currently running 16s with 205s and 225s F/R BBS 3pc.

Thanks....

Look up ASHMAN, he has the rims you are looking for.

I like 225/45/ZR17, or 235/45/ZR17 for the w124. 215/45/ZR17 is for the 190E.

rims for w124

omegabenz,

Will it look weird if i use 245/45/17? This is the size Tirerack recs for me. Remember, i need to have all corners be the same size with 17x7.5 rims. The tires you rec fits these rims? ... please advise....

Does anyone else have a suggetion????

thanks....

Oh I got your email, I was confused. I dont think you can fit 245/45ZR17, they are just too wide. 235/45/ZR17 is pushing it, you dont need much larger than that, I wouldnt think. If you lower your car with 235/45/ZR17 you are going to have to massage your fenders as it is.
