Michelin Pilot Sport or Pilot Sport A/S
I'm trying to decide on tires for my new 18s and its between these two. Ride comfort and long tread life are the priorities, and I think the A/S is better suited for that, but does it justify the extra $43/tire? Thanks for your opinions -

I have the sports on my 98 e 430, and do not drive in snow. Without the A/S you will also not be able to get around in snow. I v tried just moving my car once in snow and would not take it on the road in those conditions. So it depends on the weather you use your car in. Other than that they are very smooth and quiet much more so than the Goodyear F1 s that were orig on..

Mich Pilot Sport
I was searching for tires a several weeks ago, got a lot of good recommendation from the forum members. At the end I decided to spend the extra dollars and went with the Mich. Pilot A/S, (wife said it's my Christmas present). LarryBible was correct about the Mich., they took hardly any weights, I watch when they balanced the tires, and the tires are round as round can be. The tire dealer said Mich. makes the roundest tire out there, and no other Mfg. can match their quality. I'm very impressed with the tires so far, they have an excellent wet-dry traction performance, and I drove in the snow over Thanksgiving and they're a very good snow tire. Their also a very smooth tire and not a noisy tire, however I believe all V tread design directional tires are little nosier than most other tread design tires, but you gain excellent performance.
My wife stated the other day these Mich. Pilots A/S are the best tires we ever had on our 400E, I agree. timreid

Thanks for all of the input, I decided to get the A/S. They were pretty expensive at $231 each (225/40-18)
